The Refugee Education Council (REC) brings together refugee and displaced youth advocates, adolescent girls, educators and key decision-makers from host communities worldwide, to explore the state of girls’ education in emergencies and fragile contexts.

Thirty years on from the Beijing Platform for Action, in the lead-up to the sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), the REC is hosting a virtual event  as we mobilize support for increased commitment toward gender transformative education during crises, emphasizing its critical role in advancing gender equality and promoting safe, resilient and inclusive environments for girls and women.

This lively discussion will convene adolescent girls, refugee youth advocates, educators and key decision-makers who possess diverse experiences and knowledge related to quality education and learning. They will share lived experiences and efforts in advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls in crisis-affected regions.
